Don't forget…

Direct Debits: Don't cancel your Direct Debit until your final bill has been settled and any refund has been received. Many providers issue refunds faster when an active payment method remains in place.

Meter Readings & Final Statements: Keep records of your meter readings and final statement for at least 12 months. They may help resolve billing disputes or unexpected charges after you move out.

Check for Refunds: Utility providers often owe you money if you’ve overpaid via Direct Debit. If you’re due a refund, check how it will be returned. If it’s by cheque, make sure your provider has your new address.
Council Tax Refund
Many tenants are entitled to a council tax refund when moving out before the end of a billing period. Check with your local council to see if you're owed money.
